Job Searching: The Invisible War Pt. 2

Feedback from the community

I posted my Job Searching: The Invisible War article on LinkedIn and the feedback I received was amazingly positive. Simply put, we should be honest with ourselves when asked how we're doing in this harsh job market. Next time I'm asked how my day is going or how my week has been, I'll respond honestly. Some comments I really resonated with are below.

Cathy Nelson

I answered "It will be great if you hire me!" I was honest, showed my interest in the job, and was still professional. I got the job.

Matthew Nicholson

"You can't say that though"

I've had a certain amount of professional success being open and honest. Maybe you can say it :).

Michael Lockwood

An honest answer is that every day is challenging for one reason or another, and I stay present and focused on what's in front of me.

I'm at a really low point in this harsh job market, but the feedback motivated me enough to keep going even after receiving two rejections yesterday—one being me being ghosted on a follow-up on my final round interview. Just ouch.

So here I am... going. Next task: Release Snuky's match analysis feature.
